Hey Herman! News Flash...Donald J Trump...OUR PRESIDENT (not just any guy) won the election fair and square on 11/08/16. Ms La Montagne said it perfectly and most of us agree that he deserves our respect. No one is perfect & who are we to judge when we have no idea what enormous responsibilities he has on his shoulders right now. For the past 8 years we have had an eloquent & articulate Speaker in Chief as POTUS. Talk is cheap & as a result & were left with a huge mess...ie: 20 trillion in debt to name only one. "By their fruits ye shall know them?" President Trump has accomplished more for the good of our Country in 8 months than B.O. ever did in 8 years! Let's give him a chance all you haters out there. Whatever happened to the Golden Rule & Judge not? Think about it & stop the persecution that is so rampant in our country presently.

I am surprised at these people saying they are following the president and yet following the Spirit at the same time. I know with all the energy of my soul that those two do not go together, and anyone who believes that they are following the Spirit while following Trump doesn't yet know how to recognize the promptings of the Holy Spirit. To even mention such a thing is sacrilege.

Dear Judith. All you have done is add your voice and your disdain for our President to the thousands of others who rip and seek to destroy him every day. You have couched your words in kinder words but your ideas and beliefs about President Trump comes through quite clearly. I suggest you take a different look. There are other men you will know, such as Joseph Smith, who was also treated as Trump is now treated. The point being is that a clear voice of leadership as you mention only is clear to those who choose to listen. To others it is nothing more than abject discord.

You used this quote, G.K. Chesterton said, “The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.” In the Civil War, the South fought for what it had behind it: slavery. That quote applies to both good and evil causes. In today's "civil war", the Left, in general, is fighting to take away our agency. Have you considered the confusion is a result of Satan's earthly compatriots -- Gadianton robbers -- who seek nothing but power and control? Why else would the Left be so hell-bent on destruction of one man, who is accepting $1.00 for his service to our country. Unlike others, his motive is not money. Trump has his faults, but I believe he is sincere in wanting to make America great again. He is opposed in his MAGA agenda at every turn by the Left who is spreading the confusion. There are secret combinations all around fighting against the freedom and liberty we cherish. The Left has one agenda: extreme political correctness in every facet of our society to the exclusion of free agency. Don't you see the Progressive actions that are destroying our liberties? It's not Trump who is causing the confusion.

How can any president be fully successful when he is attacked on all sides by the media, leftist organizations, and yes, even his own party. It is really easy to criticize and there are plenty of people to do that in this country. I feel that the president needs and deserves our support as he works to overcome the many problems our times present. The presidency is an office that should garner respect, not hate and second guessing by those who are not necessarily in the know. No one has to agree with everything on his agenda, but we do owe him a little respect as he attempts to do the most difficult job in the world.

Sorry so many people fail to appreciate a capable and honorable leader, and seem to believe the vitriol spewed out every day by the so-called major media. History has shown that evil always hates good.

I believe in president Trump too. His speech on Monday evening reminded me of How Moroni talked to the people in The Book of Mormon his own people when they were having dissenters and contentiousness and the Kingman were trying to take over and be dictators. Not that President Trump is Moroni .But it was a clear call to wake up America and that he supports America and trying to rid the world of evil, he even closed in the name of God. He is not perfect, but find one president of the US who has been.i too am disappointed in Brother Romney, but he is mortal just like the rest of us.

I feel that it is generally inappropriate to look to politicians for moral certitude or guidance. We are deluded if we think we are electing people to serve as pastors or rallymen.

sorry I only read part of it....I became angry at just reading the first part. I'm sick of people criticizing the president as if he is suppose to be a robot of whoever was in office before him. he isn't a politician and that is why we elected him. he isn't use to this kind of criticism and is responding in kind defending himself. if he didn't defend himself who would. he has no help from the media because most of it is left wing and out to get any republican and especially president trump. and especially Hillary Clinton and her bunch. I know the Lord is watching this and He sees what is going on and He knew Donald trump before he was born...and knew he would be president...He allowed it to happen. what we have here is a world gone mad and overdoing PC. PRESIDENT TRUMP isn't a clone of anyone else but himself. he acts like he acts and isn't a fake like we have been watching. he is a human being who is himself and not trying to be anyone else and not exactly fitting the agenda of either side. we wanted him to clean out the swamp....and that means both sides...stop criticizing the president your only going along with the left wing agenda and the media.

I appreciate the author turning to worthy principles, rather than stark criticism and focus attention on solutions, rather than on raw criticism such as that expressed by Brother Romney. As so aptly taught by modern and ancient prophets, solutions to today's problems are found in the scriptures. May we always suggest scripture-based solutions, rather than simply point out perceived failings. May we "stand for something", as so well expressed by President Hinckley. Let us be part of the solution, rather than voices of doom.

He is calling us to be Americans! I guess you missed that part. Do you really think we live in a society today that would listen to those echoes of the past. Trump is standing for America. And if we don't listen, we will lose this great country.

A thoughtful piece. Can you send this to the president?

Sad to read this in this forum of teaching us to listen to the voice of the spirit. I come here to learn to listen to the spirit within my soul. With this article you are stating your opinion of confusion. I believe in this president and I think he is trying to tell us not to listen to the screaming, spitting, punching actions and voices. I see with my eyes the evil in the protestors. I follow their voices to witness the actions of these so called tolerance individuals. With just actions alone, this is not the way, I feel, the savior would exemplify.

Amen, Brother! The problem with this guy is that he brings into the office a character honed on deception, degradation and demeaning other people. He dispatched his 16 opponents by belittling each in turn, and has been caught in so much deceit I can't see how he will ever be taken seriously.
