Great advice! Several years ago I was on an airplane and I overheard one woman ask another passenger what she did for a living. This lady answered back that "My husband blessed me with the opportunity to stay home and raise our children". I was overwhelmed with gratitude for that woman. I related the story to my wife who I blessed with the opportunity to remain in our home to raise our 8 children. My wife could have been anything she desired to be. However, her greatest desire was to be a wife and a mother. So, I was the one who was truly blessed.

I've been blessed to have both a career and then to have the chance to be a mother. Oh how true those words are. I can say them with all my heart!! A heart so full.

is It is so worth every sacrifice---through thick or thin, highs or extreme lows----to help raise a child---whether natural born or through adoption, etc. It is the hardest job I have ever had but also the most rewarding. I have had some extreme hard times as a mother, but I would never change it.

After reading a draft of this article, a mother I much admire made this very insightful comment:
"It's worth it" is probably the very best response for all these varied situations you mention. But to myself I like to say, "THEY'RE worth it." That reminds me that all of this is about the priceless value of each human being starting life as my (or anyone's) child, and I want them to know THEY are what is worth it."
Other wonderful adaptions might include:
"She's worth it!"
"He's worth it!"
"So worth it!"
"Totally worth it!"
