The Millennials are not better or worse than any other generation. My generation was going to hell because of rock and roll and Elvis. This is simply generation bashing which is a time-honored tradition. My group is actually called War Babies - born during WWII. We were eclipsed by the Baby Boomers. I have a Millennial - 28 years old. Yes, I am a War Baby who had a Millennial when I was 45. All of his friends are good people. They have jobs, go to college, work hard and are honest. I have seen no more entitlement issues with them than any other generation. Kat is right!

My children fall into that category. I call them the Lost Generation. The world still caters to their parents generation. When that ends, it will not carry on to them, but to their children. In addition, my generation was the first to work for human rights and equality under the law; "saving the planet" through conservation of resources, recycling, reducing pollution; we protested wars and begged the world for peace; helped nations protect themselves from other nations; sent humanitarian aid to countries devastated by wars and natural disasters. The only reason the rising generation cares about such things is because we cared about them first.

This article could have been written about virtually any generation by those who are their parents, or more usually, their grandparents. The young people of the Roaring 20s were spoiled, the youth of the Gay 90s were going to hell in a hand basket (that was the 1890s, btw), obviously the Baby Boomers heard all this same stuff (funny that now they're the ones now casting aspersions on their grandchildren!). There is even a quote from ancient Rome that says about the same thing by an elderly philosopher about the young of his day. When we are young, we think we know better than our elders and when we are old we think the youth are spoiled. It is a cliche, and this article is squarely in the genre.

To John, You are right, the Greatest Generation did absolutely nothing to save the planet from the evil empires of Communist Russia, Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany.

I think this is just conservative backlash against those who given up the reactionary politics of the older generation. The new generation actually cares about the planet and human rights, The older generations only cared about the creation of capital, the new generation wants to make this a better planet.

Sometimes the struggle comes from the lack of challenge. Never before in history a generation was blessed with such a array of opportunities, and never before we found such a propensity to find blame somewhere else for their own problems.. I have 4 children falling under that label. There is a general ( of course is not a total) lack of perspective, which comes with the sense of entitlement. I used to wish them all mission calls to third world countries! But our help or guide will not take from them their unique trial of living in their own divine allotted time.

My biggest issue with the video was that I didn't feel like it did much to empower millennials to deal with the issues themselves. Many people throughout the ages have been "dealt a bad hand" growing up and it isn't real life to expect that some one else is going to fix that for them. No one should be taught that someone else is going to make them happy or feel fulfilled whether that someone is their boss, spouse or child. Millennials, just like everyone else, are going to have to take responsibility and figure that out for themselves.
