Hi John! I finally made it to Israel after all these years. Actually walking the ground clarified things a lot. I was amazed mostly at the rocks everywhere. I even visited the cave! Thanks for the quiz. Yes, I passed.

It's fun to know these details, but I love the Western-ized story too. And I think nativity scenes are lovely with a stable - if they were all in a cave, we couldn't see them all. Thank you for the interesting article with the good explanations.

Jeff Chadwick does suggest a winter birth time for Christ. He has researched quite extensively. I understand that back then, there were shepherds watching the temple flocks in the fields year-round. As for the age of Christ when the wise men came, since Herod died in 4 BC, if Jesus was 2 years old at that time, he must have been born in 6 BC.
