We press on the edge of things to see how much they give.  Children do it all the time – it’s how they grow and learn where the borders are.  They press until their parents make them stop.  They learn to stay away from the edge.  But if we stop pressing the behavior perimeters does that mean we have to stop pressing the thinking perimeters, too?
