The Mark

By M. R. Bunderson

It’s a secret that’s been hiding in plain sight. Tori’s just your average teenager, or so she’s always thought. But one day she discovers that what seemed like an ordinary birthmark on her wrist is really a set of tiny strange-looking symbols. And when Tori meets others with the same mark, they soon realize they’ll need to work together to save their real homeland an ancient culture that’s been hidden for centuries. Now Tori and her friends must find their way home, master their newfound powers, and save the land they are destined to rule. Filled with fantasy, suspense, and romance, The Mark is a spellbinding thrill ride you won’t want to put down.

I really enjoyed this book.  It tapped into my wildest imagination and had me wondering “what if.”  Bunderson did a great job with the main character and created someone I really cared about and wanted to stay with until the very end.  The plot kept me engaged and guessing and left me expecting (and hoping for) a sequel.  Unique, fresh and well written, M. R. Bunderson has given us a story that has everything you could ever want in a book.

Flecks of Gold

By Alicia Buck

Mary’s life has always been pretty normal–aside from the fact that her mom cycles through relationships like she’s changing channels on the TV.  But when one more bad break-up forces them to start over in another new town, Mary realizes maybe this place won’t be like all the others.  There’s something different about one of her new classmates, and it’s not just the fact that he’s incredibly cute.

What Mary doesn’t know is that her attraction to Kelson isn’t exactly . . . natural.  And when Kelson suddenly kidnaps Mary’s mom and takes her to his home world, Mary will have to rescue her by relying on something she never knew existed—magic.

Get lost in this spell-binding world where enchantments are commonplace and electricity unheard of.  Flecks of Gold is a thrilling blend of fantasy, action, and romance that’s a must-read for anyone who’s ever believed in magic.

After her mother is kidnapped and vanishes into thin air, Mary Margaret finds herself falling through a golden vortex, much like Alice down the rabbit hole, and landing in a strange new place called Iberloah.  Her goal is to find her mother and return to her home, but her simple quest becomes more and more challenging and complex as she discovers things about herself and her family that she never knew.  Secrets that would change her life forever.

Creating a fascinating world and interesting characters, Alicia Buck has written a wonderful story filled with plenty of excitement and drama to keep you up late and leave you wanting more.
