SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Family History Library of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will celebrate holiday traditions from around the world through special classes and activities running today through 22 December.
Cultural classes about different holiday traditions will be taught by members of the community, library employees, or missionaries from their respective countries. The classes will be different each evening and will last about 30-45 minutes.
Traditional holiday and family history activities will also be available to visitors of the library. Some of the activities offered to guests of all ages will be making a Scandinavian Christmas ornament, creating a family portrait or filling out a pedigree chart and receiving a free gift, to name a few.
Participation in classes and activities will be on a first-come-first-serve basis, Tuesday through Friday from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
A schedule of the different holiday tradition classes will be available at www.familysearch.org . For additional information about the holiday events at the library, please contact Diane Loosle at 801/240-4184, or Barbara Baker at 801/240-4741.
