challenge

We’ve seen ice water buckets dumped on George W. Bush, Mitt and Ann Romney, Steve Young and more people than we can count in the name of raising money to fight ALS. And it has worked. The ALS Association reports that it has received $94.3 million in donations compared to $2.7 million during the same period last year.

The Hermosa Vista stake presidency in Mesa, Arizona not only accepted the ALS challenge, but then asked all of the youth in the stake to participate in an additional and unique challenge:

We also want to issue a second challenge to the youth to think about ALS in terms of Always Living Your Standards.’ So on behalf of us, the stake presidency, we challenge all the youth in our stake to always live your standards.

With that challenge, counselors Jeff Robert Schneider and Samuel Joseph Bellamy Biggs dumped a bucket of ice water over their own heads and then together dumped a bucket on the head of stake president, Todd Robert Kerr.

All looked a bit shocked-and we hope their ties and suits will dry clean up nicely.
