We at Meridian Magazine pause this weekend with the rest of the United States to honor those who have served their country. And, given the complex state of affairs in the world right now, we can’t help but extend our reflection, respect and hope to the people of Ukraine.
The message below is part of a poem written by a World War II chaplain named Howard C. Badger, who was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The poem was created to honor a young soldier who had died and whose brother had requested a personal visit to the gravesite in Belgium.
