President Nelson's comment regarding the dangers of rehearsing our doubts with others is so valid. So many have left the church because of this very act. Consistently voicing your doubts, questioning the Prophet, or even bashing the church, can become like a contagious plague. I have also noticed an increasing trend of placing our doubts on a pedestal, as if we are so very wise to constantly question truths. I have a testimony that we CAN CHOOSE to believe and trust in our Savior, Jesus Christ, and the doctrines He taught. We CAN CHOOSE to believe that Joseph Smith was a true Prophet of God and that he saw and experienced exactly what he said he did. We CAN CHOOSE to believe we are led by a true Prophet, chosen by God. Many times the strengthening of our faith follows that choosing. Elder Boyd K. Packer instructed missionaries to bare their testimonies of the things they HOPED are true, and told them that the witness of the Holy Ghost would follow, baring witness to the fact that they were speaking the truth. I have personally experienced this in my prayers. Whatever doubts we encounter, we can hold fast to our Savior, be persevering in prayer, church attendance, and feasting on the scriptures. Often, we just need to keep pressing forward, and having the patience to wait for confirmations.
