You assume, like most artists, that the flocks that were scattered were sheep. However, there are no sheep in Central or South America. However, the people there do keep flocks of turkeys or other fowl. I believe that goats are another possibility. Thinking of Ammon & the others gathering the scattered flock, it seems much more likely to me that the flock was turkeys, not sheep. It makes for a much different feel to the narrative if the flock were fowl..
