I’m always looking for a wonderful angle of the spire and the angel Moroni when I photograph our sacred temples. The clouds opened up nicely for this shot

On overcast, or mixed-cloudy days other colors are often brought vibrantly. I love the beautiful windows in the spire of the Preston Temple. If you don’t look up when you go there, you won’t even notice them.

Of course I love the symmetry of all the temples, but I was especially taken by this view of this promenade of progression. As you walk down this beautiful corridor you go past a star, then the phases of the moon then arrive at a brilliant, bursting sun relief. Paul’s teachings in 1 Corinthians, chapter 15 (verses 40-42) passed through my mind as I walked along this way.

Here you can see part of that progression. As I have studied temples in both the ancient and modern world, I believe nothing is insignificant in their design.

Here is the last of the cut stones, a beautiful, bright and shining sun. What an invitation!

My emotions o’er flow when I think of the gospel being heralded to this area of Lancashire—my people were living not far from the River Ribble and heard and heeded the gospel message during the second mission to England. For this I shall be eternally grateful.

Beneath all that snow and ice there and this especially cold winter, there is hope—green grass and flowers that will return to the earth—a symbol of the reality of the resurrection that Jesus Christ gives to all.

I’m interested in everything that grows around the temple. Again, in the midst of winter, dear friends, this is the sign of hope for you.
