Dr. Emily Bates is a Latter-day Saint mother of young children, a wife of an ice cream company owner, and a scientist with a PhD from Harvard Medical School. As a teaching fellow, she taught Cell and Molecular biology at Harvard College, and Pharmacology at UCSF School of Medicine. While a professor in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department at BYU, Dr. Bates won a teaching award for a class that she developed about RNA and DNA. She is currently a professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine who wants to help people make informed decisions about Covid-19 vaccines so that together we can end the suffering from the pandemic. She is not employed by the government, and has no investments or employment interests in any company that develops vaccines.
