Brent L. Top is a Professor of Church History and Doctrine at BYU. He currently holds the Endowed Professorship of Moral Education and served for many years as Associate Dean of Religious Education. Brother Top and his family lived in the Holy Land for a year when he taught Old and New Testament at the BYU Jerusalem Center for Near-Eastern Studies. Prior to joining the BYU Religion faculty in 1987, Brother Top was a teacher and administrator for the seminaries and institutes of the Church Educational System. He is the author of several LDS church books and numerous articles in academic journals and other publications. His most recent book is entitled, Living Waters: Messages for Latter-day Disciples from the Life and Teachings of Christ. In the Church, Brother Top has also served in many teaching and leadership capacities, including high council, counselor in a bishopric, bishop, and a counselor in a stake presidency. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Wendy and they are the parents of four (three daughters and a son) and the proud grandparents of 5 (and a half).
