Jennie Hansen was born in Idaho Falls, grew up in both Idaho and Montana, and has spent most of her adult years in Utah. She has degrees from both Ricks College in Idaho and Westminster College in Utah. She began her writing career with a short story in a farm magazine at the age of seven. From there she went on to freelance for several magazines. Then she became a newspaper reporter and eventually a librarian. With the release of Code Red in October of this year and High Stakes in July, she has fourteen novels to her credit. Breaking Point, Abandoned, Beyond Summer Dreams, Chance Encounter, The River Path, All I Hold Dear, Some Sweet Day, When Tomorrow Comes, Macady, and a trilogy (Run Away Home, Journey Home, and Coming Home) are among her other books published in recent years.Jennie spent her childhood in numerous farming and ranching communities. She served two terms on the Salt Palace Advisory Board, one on the Kearns Town Council, and worked for the Utah State Legislature for two sessions. She and her husband Boyd have five children of their own and were parents to three foster children. Their family now includes their children’s spouses and nine grandchildren.
