President Eyring learned something profound when he first came to council in a setting of Church Leadership. He came into it with his “Harvard and Stanford eyes” ready to compare the decision making process to his experiences in more secular settings and was surprised by what he found.
You’d think that the Church setting would be the one where discussions were measured and polite, but President Eyring was surprised to find “very strong, very bright people all with different opinions.”
