Robots may be walking among us by 2027 according to a letter posted from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman in June. While some studies show 300 million jobs could be replaced by AI – leaving many Americans fearful – others predict superintelligence will lead to unprecedented prosperity.
To stay competitive, Americans must embrace AI at work and in the classroom. Government data shows 2.2 million Americans already have AI-intensive jobs, and the number of college graduates with AI-related degrees surged 32% in five years.
Brainly today released a study on the States Most (and Least) Prepared to Win the AI Race using the most recent data from the Census Bureau, BLS, and the National Center for Education Statistics.
Myriad factors were analyzed in all 50 states and D.C. including the share of businesses that use AI, AI-intensive jobs per capita, AI-related degrees per capita, and more.
No. 3 Utah: Among the key findings, Utah scores particularly well for businesses’ AI adoption (12.5%, No. 2) and households’ ultra high-speed internet access (82.2%, No. 4). It scores worst when it comes to federal funding for small businesses to pursue tech innovation relative to its economic size ($210 per $1 million GDP, No. 14).
