At the end of Revelation there is a wedding, a sealing of a Bride and a Bridegroom. The highest purpose of the Atonement of Christ is fulfilled in this marriage. Remember that atonement means “at-one-ment.” Here, husbands and wives unite as “one flesh,” to love and care for each other forever, as if they were “one body” and a “single personality” (see Mt. 19:6).
