Excitement filled the air at Payson High School today as Hollywood star Kevin Bacon confirmed his attendance at their upcoming prom. The event will take place in the school building where the legendary movie ‘Footloose’ was filmed.
Students have been campaigning for the actor to come back and celebrate the film’s 40th anniversary, using the hashtag #BacontoPayson online. The school performed Footloose the Musical,
On Friday, students gathered with the TODAY Show to her a special message from Bacon.
“I have been so impressed with everything that’s been going on there, with this crazy idea to get me to come back,” he said over a live video link. “I don’t need to say it, but the movie and Payson High School was a big part of my life and I’ve been amazed at the work that all of you have been putting into this, with the musical and the flash mobs and the recreations. It hasn’t gone unnoticed by me…”
