We were listening to the Nashville Tribute Band the other morning (we listen to our professional Latter-day Saint brothers and sisters every morning as we’re getting ready) and I noticed one song that I really liked said, “featuring the Truman Brothers.” I can’t believe this was my first introduction to them. They are truly wonderful.

I’ve searched around listening to their songs and they truly are very talented and they clearly love the Lord so much. They said this in one of their social media posts dated March 12, 2023:

“This week’s Come Follow Me lesson includes the powerful story of the “diseased” woman who so desperately desires to be healed by the Savior. Our song, “Bruised”, was in part inspired by this woman’s powerful act of faith. ‘If I could only reach out and just touch Your hand.’

In our lives, there will certainly be times of darkness that seem unrelenting. But it’s truly remarkable what we believe as followers of Jesus Christ… that despite the worst of what we have experienced we can one day be made “whole”. (Matthew 9:21) All that is asked is that we continue to seek Him. To continue to reach for Him. Knowing that indeed all of our bruises will ‘be healed one day.’” That is some faithful writing!

The Truman Brothers, Ben and Chad, are the sons of Dan Truman who is the keyboard and piano player for the superstar country band Diamond Rio (famous for songs like “Meet in the Middle,” “Beautiful Mess,” and “One More Day.”) So, music runs in Ben and Chad’s veins and I’m so glad they’ve pursued it. They are from Nashville, but they formed their band in 2005 while they were attending BYU. Their EP, Quiet Revolution, was released in 2021 and debuted as #10 on the iTunes Christian Albums chart! These guys have got talent.

I briefly talked to our great friend, Jason Deere, this week, co-founder of the Nashville Tribute Band and I asked him about Ben and Chad. He said: ““I’ve known Ben and Chad Truman since they were very young. They are both high quality human beings and each very talented. Their father Dan is one of my long-time best friends and the boys have each been a part of the Nashville Tribute Band since 2010. We have all traveled all over the world together, sharing our music and testimonies with countless audiences. I love those boys. I will support anything they do anywhere, any time for as long as they keep making music. They are not just the Truman Brothers, they are brothers to the Nashville Tribute Band.”

I think I will be exploring these boys further, but for now, sit back and listen to this unique set of lyrics in their song, “Before the Calm.”
