February is American Heart Month, a time to focus on cardiovascular health. Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Too many of us have one or more risk factors for heart disease, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, being a smoker, or being overweight. Having multiple risk factors increases our risk for heart disease, but we can do a lot to protect our hearts. Healthcare professionals encourage us to practice heart-healthy behaviors, including:
- following a nutritious diet,
- quitting smoking if you smoke,
- reducing your alcohol consumption if you drink,
- reducing stress,
- getting quality sleep,
- being physically active,
- maintaining a healthy weight,
- taking a high-quality supplement like CARDIO MIRACLE.
The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute launched the #OurHearts movement to encourage and motivate everyone to adopt heart-healthy behaviors – together.
Research shows that having social support and personal networks makes getting regular physical activity, eating healthy, quitting bad habits like smoking, and losing weight. In my Meridian article at the beginning of the New Year, I publicly committed to losing 36 pounds this year, so I’ve made all of you part of my social support network! I can report great progress – I’m down 10 pounds already and ahead of schedule.

Nitric Oxide Society and Scientific Studies
The Nitric Oxide Society (https://www.nitricoxidesociety.org), is a non-profit organization whose council members are scientists associated with universities in the United States, Japan, and Europe. They are dedicated to “advancing basic and applied scientific research to fully realize the impact of Nitric Oxide on mankind.” As many others do, they refer to Nitric Oxide as the “Miracle Molecule” and state on their Web site:
From diabetes to hypertension, cancer to drug addiction, stroke to intestinal motility, memory and learning disorders to septic shock, sunburn to anorexia, male impotence to tuberculosis, there is probably no pathological condition where Nitric Oxide does not play an important role. Only within the last 25 years was Nitric Oxide discovered as a product of enzymatic synthesis in mammals, there are more than 114,000 scientific papers dealing with this remarkable molecule with most of these published within the last eight years.
My quest to formulate the finest Nitric Oxide supplement led me to immerse myself in the science of Nitric Oxide and incorporate the latest scientific evidence I could find in a formula that stimulates sustained Nitric Oxide production in your body. I formulated a balance of high-quality amino acids, vitamins, and antioxidants to support not only your heart health but a variety of other health conditions.
The Nitric Oxide Society outlines on their Web site, some of the ways Nitric Oxide (NO) can benefit you:
Cardiovascular disease – nitric oxide is the most important molecules produced in our cardiovascular system. In fact, loss of the production of nitric oxide is recognized as one of the earliest events in the onset and progression of cardiovascular disease. From high blood pressure, heart failure, coronary artery disease, atherosclerosis, heart attack and stroke, nitric oxide play an essential role in combatting all these conditions
Immune function – when our body is invaded by pathogens such as bacteria, viruses, parasites or fungi, our working heart and muscles.
Cancer – nitric oxide appears to play a dual role in cancer. Low, physiological levels of NO appear to have anti-cancer properties whereas higher concentrations produced for prolonged periods may contribute to cancer cell growth and proliferation. There is much focus and current research on understanding how NO affects cancer cell growth.
immune system responds by producing massive amounts of nitric oxide acutely to kill these pathogens. The production and regulation of nitric oxide by our immune system can help keep us free from any chronic infections
Nervous system – nitric oxide is a cell signaling molecule and facilitates communication between cells. In the nervous system, nitric oxide is a neurotransmitter involved in long term memory and cognition. Disruption of nitric oxide plays a role in many neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson Disease.
Physical performance – your ability to generate nitric oxide may predict how well you perform athletically. Nitric oxide not only controls and regulates blood flow to working skeletal and heart muscles, but also controls how efficiently your mitochondria generate cellular energy from oxygen. Exercise intolerance in older individuals is due to these people being unable to effectively produce nitric oxide and regulate blood flow to the body.

The Miraculous Human Heart
The daughter of one of our customers said, “I wouldn’t trust any product that includes ‘miracle’ in its name,” but I didn’t take the branding of CARDIO MIRACLE lightly! There will always be skeptics, but for me to outlive my dad, uncle, and grandfather and now – overweight (but getting thinner!) at age 68 – to have the health, vitality, and energy of a 30-year-old is miraculous.
To cardiologists a healthy heart is a miraculous creation. Instead of quoting Dr. Russell Nelson (you all know how he feels about the heart!), I’ll quote Dr. Serge Geffrard, a pediatric cardiologist. He wrote:
The human heart is one of the most complex organs of the body. The heart is the central component of the circulatory system whose purpose is to provide oxygen, glucose, protein, carbohydrates to the various organs of the body while simultaneously removing cellular waste. In elementary school, we learn that the heart is a pump whose major components are specialized muscle cells which are constantly contracting and relaxing but never get tired. Simply put, the heart is a complex group of muscles which are constantly doing push-ups but never get tired. As a pediatric cardiologist, I am in awe whenever I think of this organ, which is the size of our fist, is always beating and never gets tired. Just for fun, try to do some push-ups and record how many you can do before you get tired!!!
The development of the human heart in utero is beyond human comprehension. To me, it is truly a miracle. I would even argue that it is on the same scale as some of the miracles we have read about in in the Bible such as parting of the Red Sea or stopping of the solar system.
The healthcare professionals at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute recommend that we become aware of heart health statistics to appreciate the gravity of the problem presented by heart disease. As you think about the miracle of the heart, consider first these astounding statistics Dr. Geffrard points to in the development of the heart in utero:
From the time it begins to beat, three weeks after conception, to the time of delivery (39 weeks), the heart of a human fetus beats an average of 140 beats/minute, 8400 beats/hour, 201,600 beats/day for 252 days, (Assuming the baby is born full-term 39 weeks). So, if we do the simple math and multiply 201,600 x 252, the heart of a human fetus beats about 50 million times before delivery. In other words, our heart beats about 50 million times before we take our first breath and never gets tired.
As Dr. Geffrard writes, “Wow!!!”

Now consider these grim statistics:
- Cardiovascular disease is one of the deadliest killers in the world.
- On average, around 17.9 million people worldwide die of cardiovascular disease each year— accounting for 31% of all deaths.
- The United States has nearly 610,000 deaths annually because of heart disease.
Raising Awareness and Giving Thanks to God
February is Heart Health Month, and at CARDIO MIRACLE we want to celebrate the body’s most vital organ, raise your awareness for avoiding cardiovascular disease, and support your heart health through Nitric Oxide supplementation with CARDIO MIRACLE.
Friday, February 6th is Wear Red Day to raise this awareness and to increase our commitment to fight heart disease. It’s my sincere prayer that we credit our Heavenly Father for the miracle of the human heart. Let’s not just wear red, but let’s be well-read about the things we can do to improve our heart health.
In gratitude to God for our miraculous hearts, may I suggest you start your reading with these verses from the Bible?
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed body;
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book before one of them came to be.
(Psalms 139:13-16, New International Version)
Your health is priceless to you – and your loved ones – and can be improved for just a couple dollars a day.
