I think of another definition of 'wonderful' as well: "of a sort that causes or arouses wonder; amazing; astonishing. He definitely was amazing and gave us great cause to wonder.

Thank you for your post. I have no doubt that He is wonderful, but "Wonderful" was never meant as a name (noun). You have been mislead by an errant comma (remember that Hebrew contains no punctuation - that was added later in translation). Note that every other name listed in Isaiah (and repeated in the Book of Mormon) has Christ's names using both an adjective and a noun. The King James translation places a comma after the word "wonderful" making it a noun when it is really an adjective modifying the noun "Counselor." Most other translations omit the comma after the adjective, making the list of names logical. Handel's "Messiah" made the error famous. His name is "Wonderful Counselor" and not "Wonderful."
