Even though I live in Washington state, the Oakland Temple will always be "my" temple. At the age of 12, I waited in line to go through the open house for the new temple before it was dedicated. Later I was married in the Oakland Temple, as well as 4 of my children. My parents and Grandparents were also sealed there. President David O. McKay specifically blessed the temple grounds, as well as the temple itself during the original dedication. I have always felt there is a very special spirit on the Oakland Temple grounds as fulfillment of this dedication. I love the temple!
