Things get ugly when women use this as a weapon to deny intimacy. No wonder there are so many divorces. They are the more sensitive ones and will be the first to shut up shop. The men are then left wondering what went wrong and before long it snow balls out of control. Been there, done that. At least Laura gives an insight into mysterious female mind.

I believe what Laura says in this article is 100% correct, I know that non-sexual touch is critical for my wife and I try to do this as much as I can. At the same time, I can't help but feel some sympathy for Michael's comment above. In particular, I do get a little tired that in the church I feel we are constantly instructed about how men should treat their wives. However, a review of women's conference talks finds few, if any, instructions to our sisters of how they should treat their husbands. Although sexual intimacy is important to me, so is non sexual touch, so is emotional connection, so is a calm voice, yet we seem somehow scared of addressing topics from a male perspective.

There will, undoubtedly, be women who will use this as an excuse to avoid sex altogether and yet others who will take pleasure in beating their husbands over the head with the "I told you so" stick. Most men are hoping their wives don't read articles like this, the rest are cursing their luck.

I believe this works both ways. Men also like to know that they are loved and not just a sex toy for women!
