Through personal experience, sounds like a pornography addiction. I remember reading that most men will not leave their wives unless there is someone else in the picture. So again it sounds like pornography. It was something I couldn't bring myself to accept and was in a state of denial for a long time. After listening to a talk on LDS radio about the warning signs of this and finally bringing myself to a point where I asked the Lord if this was the case in my marriage, the Spirit born witness to me that it was. I went through all the stages, anger, feelings of betrayal, etc. Begging will not help. There is help out there available. What he needs is a supportive Bishop, supportive wife and qualified therapist. Fasting, prayer. You'll need support and priesthood blessings for strength if this is the case. And for a different perspective on the challenge of pornography, there is a great article you can search "Brother Poulton's Fascinating Paper on Evil Spirits." It is extremely long but you can do a search for the story on Stephen.

BeenThere2 Same thing happened to me.....my husband's old girlfriend made contact with him. She wanted him to divorce me. We didn't divorce because of the kids and his job. After some time he died, and I found out that the contact had not been "cut" and they were still meeting secretly. It has been now over 10 years since he died and the pain in my heart is still there, but healing slowly. I suppose one day there will be a reckoning for both of them.

Having been in a similar situation with my first wife, I can tell you that begging and pleading for affection only makes it worse. In my case, she responded to my pressure to get closer by leaving. You don't make the family more attractive to your husband by nagging.

I agree with Jeff. I had no idea why my husband was acting like that and I made excuses for him, too. Come to find out he had hooked up with his high school girlfriend on Facebook, was visiting her during "business trips," and then I found his porn.

Classic signs of a pornography addict.
