Very thoughtful - and hopefully will be used to bless people, and removing our focus from "How can I look good?" to "How can I help others?" Thank you for the message.

Thanks for a great article! I've had similar experiences. Once when recording an instructional video at work, I was prompted to think about how much I loved the people who would be watching and listening to the video. When I kept that in mind, the recording went much more smoothly! On another occasion, I was about to give a presentation on family history when I heard a song on a Christian radio station by the J. J. Weeks band. Here are some of the words, addressed to the Lord: Take away the melodies, take away the songs I sing Take away all the lights and all the songs You let me write Does the man I am today say the words you need to say Chorus Let them see You in me let them hear You when I speak Let them feel You when I sing Let them see You, let them see You in me ("Let Them See You"; full lyrics here: https://www.klove.com/music/artists/jj-weeks-band/songs/let-them-see-you-lyrics.aspx) When I remembered this, I felt it made the presentation much better for the students. It's another side to the point you made: we can reach people most effectively when we forget ourselves, love them, and do our best to let them see the Lord through us.
