I had the pleasure of meeting this brother and his son at BYU education week. The use of light and dark, and his style make for stunning art that is so different from the "traditional" styles. They draw your eye, and heart, to Jesus in every painting! I purchased four of his prints and look forward to getting more.

I don't normally like modern artwork, but I find these to be so beautiful and send such a powerful message. They are so beautiful.

Beautiful paintings! They should be published in a book! Thank you for this article.

I have never been a fan of modern painting, but this artist's work just speaks to me. It's simplicity is so striking and beautiful and conveys such a powerful message. It would be wonderful if prints could be purchased through the church.

Brother/Hermano Cocco is a true artist. I met him on my mission in the Spain Barcelona Mission and my mission president was David W. Doxey. I was serving in Valencia, Spain at the time and had lost almost 100 pounds of weight. Brother Cocco drew a pencil drawing of me losing weight as I walked along in my oversized suit. He then painted a portrait of me for my parents to know what I looked like at the time; I have both and the pencil drawing hangs on my bedroom wall next to my mission call and the Articles of Faith in Catalan. I remember Brother Cocco's painting in the inside of the front cover of the Ensign years ago that depicted Moroni with the gold plates hiding from the Lamanites. The caption indicated that it didn't matter where Moroni traveled, he had to be careful so he wouldn't be killed. What great memories. Thank you so much, Hermano Cooco. --Elder Brady

Thank you for sharing this with us. These are beautiful paintings in a style I would not have considered. Because of that, I look at them more closely and see them with fresh eyes.
