The Ensign magazine had an article about this many years ago. After reading the article I started doing the same thing. I now have many ornaments that remind me of the scriptures. Among my favorites: an empty nest (Matt 8:20), a small hen (3 Ne 10:5), a fancy letter opener shaped like a sword (Hymn: Let Us All Press On), a sun, moon and stars, angels, pearls, a small wooden gate, my son's missionary name tag. Once while sharing this with some elders they asked for some string and took out a cell phone, tied the string to the antennae and then hung it on the tree. (They had just received new phones and had been tasked with getting rid of the old one) The cell phone now stands for prayer - Like 'ET' we pray so we can 'phone home'. The possibilities are endless if you seek them.
