Powerful article. Thank you so very much for sharing. The Book of Job has always been one of my favorites for all the reasons you outlined here. These are not easy teachings, however through the Atonement of Jesus Christ there is always hope and as we were taught in this past Conference, "Mortal life can be AGONIZING, but our hardships have eternal purpose; even if we do not understand it at the time." (Hallstrom) And....."You can have what you want, or you can have something better." (Holland) May I find myself so believing and receiving...is my prayer.

Very sobering and comforting article indeed! One of my dear friends at BYU confided to me that she had once been reminded by the Spirit, that SHE was the one who asked to "make it hard" for her while in the pre-mortal life. This revelation proved to be comforting to her when being faced with all kinds of challenges. Certainly, the same applies to each one of us, so magnificently portrayed by Hugh B. Brown's speech on "The Currant Bush" (https://www.lds.org/new-era/1973/01/the-currant-bush?lang=eng)
