Thank you for this wonderful tribute to us older saints! I live in St George and I think this would be a great little skit for our Sr, Ward, What I also enjoyed was to hear Carene Jordon sing again. She and I were high school friends. i would love to see her again and you made it possible to hear her voice again.

I loved this article and the music. I think every age has its blessings. As I go into my golden years (I'll be 68 in a couple weeks), I feel very loved by Heavenly Father. There is a familiar hymn with a verse that refers to the elderly. It is the 6th verse that is not usually sung in "How Firm a Foundation". "E'en down to old age, all my people shall prove My sov'reign, eternal, unchangeable love; And then, when gray hair shall their temples adorn, Like lambs shall they still in my bosom be borne."

Your songs send the beautiful message of the worth of a each person in our lives. We must continue to do our best to let others know they are loved if only by us.

Thank you Sister Perry for this article. It touched my tender heart. As Elder Hilbig declined, though his capacity ebbed away, his valiant spirit became more apparent. On occasion he would speak after days of silence. Once as we went to the car in mid-winter, he pressed against the car door which had been warmed by the sun and said, "We all feel better when the sun shines." For the last 18 months we attended his Sacrament Meeting in the basement of the care center. The local Stake assigned one ward per month to help with the meetings. Many speakers and youth who gather the elderly in wheel chairs to the meeting have done this all their lives. I have no words to describe their reverence and love for the elderly. Walking into that chapel is as close to walking into heaven as any spiritual experience I have had. Every talk was polished. Every speaker realized s/he was speaking to valiant souls enduring with faith to the end. Our family fell in love with every person living there. They blessed us on our visits. Our young children grew in compassion. They learned to love without expecting anything in return but the elderly returned their love even with the slightest attention given. So many received so few visitors. I hope more of us will follow the prophet and keep our arms around those whose lives have been valiant and still have so much to give.
