Great advice. I have issues with anxiety and felt strongly that I should go to the temple for my endowment prior to our family sealing. I wanted to go without my dear husband so that I could experience this moment in my own way and without concern for negatively impacting his experience of my anxiety took the front seat. It took some discussion with my Bishop, who initially advised us to go together. He is a wise and caring man though and I think felt impressed that this was right for me. I went for my endowment with my former Releif society president. Just a couple of girls on a spiritual road trip. I was 8.5 months pregnant but I have to say it was very powerful for me. I believe more powerful because I had no expectations but my own. I lost myself in that day ( and in the kindness of the temple workers who offered to pause the session if I needed a bathroom break). I loved the temple and was more prepared to receive the blessings emotionally because I went separately from our sealing. My family returned together 2 months later to be sealed together and it couldn't have been a more wonderful experience. Thank you so much for posting this tip.

As a Temple Ordinance Worker I have noticed how crucial it is to pick a seasoned escort through the temple. A best friend with little to no experience may not be the best choice. This might be better served with a temple loving, temple attending, older friend or family member that will stay calm, cool, collected and able to meet your needs first on that special day.
