The BSA will fold like a house of cards in Utah maybe. But the rest of the country could care less what they do.

I hit "submit" too quickly... correction: "capitalization"

You would THINK that the New York Times writers would be professional enough to know and use the correct name of the Church with the first word capitolized... The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

A split from BSA has been a long time coming. In my experience very few Youth Leaders at the Ward level bother to be trained in their position as a Scout leader. Youth leaders rarely attend monthly "Roundtable" meetings where they would receive valuable insights in scouting methods and programs. LDS Meritbadge counselors are generally lax in teaching and adhering to MB requirements. And the same goes for Leaders adhering to Rank req'mts also. Having served in Scout leadership positions all my life, and my oldest son also, I have always been dismayed at the preponderance of lackadaisical LDS leadership in it's scouting programs. - For the few who have worked so hard to make Scouting meaningful in our young men's lives, you may soon receive your rest.

If the church withdraws themselves of the BSA, the BSA will fold like a house of cards.
