I am currently two thirds of the way through this wonderful book. I love how Br. Goddard applies gospel principles to the challenges we face in a marriage. I have learned a great deal and am looking forward to sharing this book with others. I think every married couple should have this and use it! It would make a wonderful gift to newly married, or about to be married couples.
I love this advice, and believe in it. Yet, I did all these things in my marriage and it wasn't enough. The more I gave, the more he took. And once I trusted God to fight my battles, He did so by guiding me out the door. I've had years to heal, but that still hurts....So just remember that when you call on God, the answer may not be what you were hoping for.
Very helpful read! I'm excited to buy the book and read more. I been married a while now and the one piece of advice that I like to give from what we have learned is that the Savior can heal anything if you let Him in. Thank you for the reminder of how precious marriage is.
I confess that it is true that I engage in "the commonest form of latter-day idolatry" by insisting that "I've got this one, Heavenly Father. I can take care of it. My own ability is sufficient to save me."I am grateful for this article because it reminds me of this primary natural man tendency that I seem to keep resorting to. Thank you for sharing this article. I will keep repenting until this is no longer part of my natural man arsenal. It is by the Grace of the Lord, Jesus Christ, that I will be saved - not by my own will power or obstinate behavior. I desire to be healed by His saving grace.
Thanks for confirming what Heavenly Father has been trying to teach me for so long. A consistent increase in love and acceptance increases my spouse's trust in me and H.F. Not easy though.
I would accept your invitation to receive your book but I'm allergic to ink and paper.
Wow. If your book is anything like this article, it will be beneficial to the lives of many married couples. Everyone comes to a Red Sea at some point in their marriages. My husband and I did, and I am sure each of our children will. Such is life, but thankfully, we have a Savior who is there for us through the ups and downs. When we rely on him, anything becomes possible. Thanks for the reminder.
Great thoughts. The devil works overtime we need to find the lord who has more power and does mightier works if we surrender our will to him!
