Oh, John, how I wish I had a good person like you to help me with these articles! I am just doing the best I can, and I apologize for not doing better! You do not know me, or you’d know that I do not have a sarcastic bone in my body. I do try (at least occasionally) to write in a lively manner and attempt some humor (even if it comes across lame), but I am completely sincere in all I write. I feel no anxiety or responsibility over any person’s diet choices except my own. No one need pay any attention to my opinion or feel judged if they don’t eat as I do. My only desire is to encourage people to prayerfully study the Word of Wisdom and seek the Lord’s help in making good choices for themselves. None of us has a corner on the truth. I have found great happiness and many hidden treasures in embracing the Word of Wisdom through a whole food, plant-based perspective, so it is my joy to share my experience with others. I expect every reader to do their own research, by study and by faith, and come to their own conclusions. It sounds like you are doing great! Thanks for sharing your experience and opinions. (Thanks also to Deb for your kind comment.)

Hi Jane, I do enjoy your articles, but sometimes I feel like you are being too pushy to get people to eat the way you think they should eat. I think much or today's article was that way. It was more like a campaign and your options were very negative (almost sarcastic) to those who might eat different than you have decided to eat. After reading your series of articles last Spring, I decided to change my diet. It is not exactly a WFPB diet. It is more of a no meat, no dairy diet. I do cut way back on processed foods, eat much less sugar, eat more grains, beans, and vegetables than I ever did. But I don't beat myself up if I want to eat a few crackers or other processed foods with preservatives in them. I am sure I eat way more nuts and Peanut Butter than you feel I should. My change in diet has been a challenge for my family, since none of them came along with me. So what to eat for dinner when they want something and dad doesn't eat most of that. To make life easier for everyone else, I usually eat some modified version of what they eat, or occasionally something completely different. I don't have the luxury to stay home and cook and I don't want to place too much burden on my wife to cook me a separate dinner. I feel much healthier and don't crave the foods I no longer eat. I avoid substitute foods, but I have made some non-dairy ice cream and no egg cookies or whole wheat pancakes. I may never go to a wholly WFPB diet, but then I don't feel I have to. I feel good, exercise regularly, and am healthier than I have ever been. I don't feel fanatical, or obsessed, and I don't try to get others to eat like I do. I appreciate your insight that has set me on this journey. I have made these changes because I do think it is better for me and pleasing to the Lord. My interpretation of the WOW may be different from yours, but that is OK. After 9 months, this change is still good. Thanks for listening to my opinion, John
