Our Father in Heaven lost one-third of His children over the principle of free agency. Let that sink in. As fascinated as we always are with the notion of love, I think that the real answer to the opening question is free agency.

Ive heard coiuntless talks indicating that obedience, and not love, is the first law of heaven. God loves the vilest of sinners, but cant save then or help them very much if they dont start to exercise faith and start chosing to keep the commandments. He is the author of eternal salvation unto those who obey him (Heb I think)
