Many times the older people who have served very consistantly in various callings are not used because there are so many younger ones that "need" to have the training.It is harder for some than others when this happens.

You're never put out to pasture. As soon as you are released there's nearly always another calling. Sometimes you have a break and most of us enjoy a month or a few months, but there's always a new calling coming, and you'll need to study and work to do it right. Even when you've held the job before it's different. That's what makes this Church so great!

Happened to me as a very new convert- almost broke my spirit and my confidence- no-one had told me it might happen. You learn to take the knocks though. I enjoy my new Ward, even though my initial reason for choosing that one has evaporated. the Church is true- just sometimes man gets in the way.
