I think "getting up every day" with a "focus" centered on "irking Satan" is a pretty dangerous attitude. In fact, such a daily focus on "foiling" Satan could quickly become a form of false worship. It is upon the rock of our Redeemer that we must plant ourselves, and my purpose is to live to please my Savior, NOT to "live to infuriate Satan." I realize, of course, that Satan IS upset when we follow Christ, but to become "Satan-centered" is not a spiritually healthy state of mind.

This is good advice. After all "the Truth shall set you free." "For the Kingdom of the devil must shake, and they which belong to it must needs be stirred up unit repentance, or the devil will grasp them with his everlasting chains, and they be stored up to anger, and perish;" There's a reason we Mormons embrace free agency to a degree no other religions can even touch. The commandments are designed to free us from slavery--to lies, to tobacco, to the understanding of humanity--and in becoming free, in embracing the liberty of God's vision for us, we also become happy: "...men are that they might have joy." This week one of our speakers here in Prescott talked about obedience, and he put it very well. We obey first from fear, then from hope of reward, but when we obey out of love, for God and our fellow beings, only then do we finally become able to understand why 'the rules' exist. The one who wants to rule over is is Satan. Break his rules, for there are MANY. God created His law to help us learn to be free. That's the whole point of coming to Earth.
