So true. I have had to let go a friendship that I thought would be forever because the person thought only of herself, professing that she wanted to serve, but really only wanted the attention that "serving" would bring. When I really needed help, she was too busy or it didn't occur to her, and became critical of everything I did. Finally it became too much. I am so thankful for those wonderful people who are so outgoing and love to interact with love, and who will let me serve them with the shared love we feel for each other, and the joy that sharing that love and true friendship brings.
