In Australia, we can only read about such great events. You American LDS people are so blessed. But as Bytheway would say- I'm not bitter

My 2 sons were able to preform and I acted as a captain of 10 for the cultural celebration. One of the most amazing things I noticed was the spirit of Sister Tidwell. When she got up to speak to the youth you could feel the power her spirit has. The youth could feel it, they quickly hushed and listened to her carefully. We were in the back corner and very seldom could hear the speakers, but when she spoke we heard her, because the youth were listening. She did not speak loudly, or with force. She spoke to them gently and with the kindness of a mother. I am thankful for that experience.

We had three children in the cultural celebration. From the very first practice I kept thinking there is no way that a production of this magnitude can be pulled off in such a short period of time. But time and time again we saw the hand of the Lord, including the calling of the amazing Roseanne to be the director. We have known her for 20 years and we knew she was the one born to do this. My wife and I sat on the sidelines during the production in intermittent pouring rain and were completely soaked through by the end of the evening. The quilt we took to sit on absorbed so much water that it weighed about 20 pounds by the time we left. It was a spiritual high for our whole family when we got home that night and compared notes about the experience. It was a life changing experience for all of us.

I was touched by the enthusiasm and smiles of the kid sperforming in spite of the rain. And it was obvious that there had been much rehearsal and effort--from an old drama coach, I absolutely know what a difficult task this was.

I loved reading about the inspiration of Roseanne and the rest of the people who lead and participated in the Gilbert Temple program. My only comment would be to have videos of the program available to the people who could not attend. If you plan to show any videos, please let us know when and where.

I live in Oregon and my daughter lives in Maricopa and she called to tell me I could watch the celebration on the internet because I had two great nieces that were participating. I connected just as it was starting. I was absolutely amazed, even with the down pour those youth kept singing and dancing with smiles on their faces. It brought tears to my eyes. I just have to say, thank you for all your hard work Roseanne, and to all those who helped you. It was a beautiful celebration to Arizona and the new Temple. Thank you, thank you!!!! I do believe they didn't feel the rain!!

I know Rosanne personally she is one of the kindest, down to earth people I know. It was no surprise when I learned of her directing this celebration......she knows how to celebrate, her personality bubbles up out of her, it's contagious..I love You Rosanne..thank heaven for people like you who share their talents so willingly. We watched this, via the internet, from our home in Payson, Utah because we have family involved and because we toured the Gilbert Temple twice in Feb. and fell in love with its beauty. We hope to go back in the Fall and attend the Temple as patrons and once again feel the Spirit that resides within the Gilbert and each Temple.
