>>> Ben: On what basis have you determined that the JST is primarily a history? "In Moses chapter 1 in the Pearl of Great Price, ... Genesis being oral traditions written down centuries later is refuted by this revelation. "<<< Just on the revelations to Moses being written down by Moses, Moses 1:41 seems to me to be quite clear about him not waiting around for second hand oral traditions to transmit the words of his vision. "...shall take many of [the words] from the book which thou shalt write" --RM

Excellent clarification. It's actually kind of fun to recognize that the Gospel, as we know it, accommodates both science and faith. Truth is truth, and many more great truths of science and creation will yet be revealed.

On what basis have you determined that the JST is primarily a history? "In Moses chapter 1 in the Pearl of Great Price, the preface to the start of Genesis chapter 1, Moses is shown a vision that will result in the vision of the creation of the world. Right away, we can see that the scholarly theory of Genesis being oral traditions written down centuries later is refuted by this revelation. "

The original Bible was written in Hebrew and contained a lot more richness than the current English translation. Going to the original one can ascertain how long a creation day is- 2.5 billion years. Further one can ascertain when different events happened e.g., formation of the sun first life etc. The actual times from the Bible match the current scientific knowledge remarkably well on about 17 events mentioned in Genesis. see https://danielfriedmannbooks.com/
