Wonderful article! It seems that there are those who believe that "hearkening to the voice of the Lord" and "listening to the council of our Prophets" are somehow mutually exclusive.I have never found this to be the case. It has always been a comfort to me that in the very chapter you quote (Alma 26) Ammon goes on to say in verse 22, "Yea, he that repenteth and exerciseth faith, and bringeth forth good works, and prayeth continually without ceasing unto such it is given to know the mysteries of God; yea, unto such it shall be given to reveal things which never have been revealed; yea, and it shall be given unto such to bring thousands of souls to repentance, even as it has been given unto us to bring these our brethren to repentance." and continuing in Alma 26:37 "Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen." I have also found great comfort in the words of Ezekiel that Joseph Smith quoted in his first discourse to the newly organized Saints and again reiterated in one of his final discourses to the Relief Society Sisters of the church shortly before his martyrdom. "And if the prophet be deceived when he hath spoken a things, I the Lord have not deceived that prophet, and I will stretch out my hand upon him and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel. And they shall bear the punishment of their iniquity; the punishment of the prophet shall be even as the punishment of him that seeketh unto him; that the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither be polluted any more with all their transgressions; but that they may be my people, and I may be their God, saith the Lord God." (Ezekial 14: 9-12) It is certain that The Lord God is in charge and that he will preserve His people and His Prophets in their righteous endeavors as well as uphold those whom he has ordained and sent forth to preach his word and call the world to repentance! :) Thank you for your words of wisdom! I always enjoy your articles! :)

Loved the article you wrote on Spiritual Storm Warnings. It was a beautifully well-written reminder to not only REALLY LISTEN to our Prophet, both present and past, but TO DO all we can to follow the counsel they have given.

Loved reading this article. Great reminder. Physical preparedness is good, but spiritual preparedness is vital. People can lose all they have worked to build--food storage, emergency supplies, etc.--but our spiritual storage will always be with us as a guide to keep us safe from the storms of life. Thank you, Darla..

The greatest gift I have right now is the Peace that comes to me when I begin feel fear. I feel sorrow for those who can not draw on his strength and feel his love for us...living in constant fear would be terrible to imagine.
