Excellent article, Brother Barkdull. However, referring to the quote given in one of the comments, Elder McConkie did not say, quote "Every member is ENTITLED and EXPECTED to seek and obtain all the spiritual blessings of the gospel, including the crowning blessing of seeing the Lord face to face".close quote. The talk you are referring to is THE TEN BLESSINGS OF THE PRIESTHOOD from the October 1977 General Conference. Please read the talk. It is excellent, but he does not say what has been quoted by R. Cleverly.

Thank you sooo much!!! I affirm all you've shared here. "Ask and Ye shall receive.." enriches us if we only ask!!!

Could you do me a favor, kind sir? Instead of using footnotes, could you put the scripture references in the article itself? It is confusing, time consuming and many other things to have to scroll up and down as you read (and a pain to find your place on the upswing). Thank you and...don't put down the pen!

Excellent article. This reminds me of a talk given years a go by Elder McConkie wherein he stated "Every member is ENTITLED and EXPECTED to seek and obtain all the spiritual blessings of the gospel, including the crowning blessing of seeing the Lord face to face".

Larry - I've thought for a while now - and this confirms it. You get it! You've gone beyond the culture and the correlated curriculum and are feasting on the words of Christ. So many LDS authors seem to skim the surface, but you are not. I and more in my family have been learning these things, and thirsting and desiring for them. Thank you for the confirmation - not that we really needed one, of course. That confirmation must come from the Lord Himself. God Bless you in your journey, and us in ours!
