Larry, I "Discovered" you when a I read your illustration of the up and down elevators. I was so impressed with it, I posted it on my Facebook page, and my daughter-in-law Ali Rytting Jones responded "He is my uncle!". I have to tell you that Rescusing Wayward Children has changed my life. I have referred it to several friends struggling to understand/accept their children's choices and they have been very grateful. After reading it, I look at all of life differently. My view of life's experiences is different. I have greater peace and faith in the future. I believe you have amazing insights and always look forward to your articles in the Meridian. I hope I can meet you some day.

What a great article on such an important subject. We have nine children all raised in the church. Six boys served missions. The world has won some of them over but I know they will return someday. Thanks Brother Barkdull for such an inspiring work. I was wondering if your book is available in electronic format? If so how and where could I order it. Thanks,Bob

Lots of misquoting and malinterpreting Joseph F. Smith Vision. Why even try to be good here if you can live it up in sin and just repent in the world to come? Men can give their personal opinions, but it doesn't change the Scriptures that are plain and precise. Alma 34:32 For behold, this life is the time for men to prepare to meet God; yea, behold the day of this life is the day for men to perform their labors.33 And now, as I said unto you before, as ye have had so many witnesses, therefore, I beseech of you that ye do not procrastinate the day of your repentance until the end; for after this day of life, which is given us to prepare for eternity, behold, if we do not improve our time while in this life, then cometh the night of darkness wherein there can be no labor performed.34 Ye cannot say, when ye are brought to that awful crisis, that I will repent, that I will return to my God. Nay, ye cannot say this; for that same spirit which doth possess your bodies at the time that ye go out of this life, that same spirit will have power to possess your body in that eternal world.35 For behold, if ye have procrastinated the day of your repentance even until death, behold, ye have become subjected to the spirit of the devil, and he doth seal you his; therefore, the Spirit of the Lord hath withdrawn from you, and hath no place in you, and the devil hath all power over you; and this is the final state of the wicked.

Thank You again for this series. Four of our six children have chosen "earthly ways". It is our biggest heartbreak. Your attention to and explaination of John 14:27 hit the mark. Appreciate your insight and uplifting counsel.

I just have two questions. Do you believe all children born in the covenant will eventually gain exaltation? If so, what's the difference between that doctrine and the doctrine of Alma 1:4?

Thank you for the comforting article. I appreciate the presentations you have given through Meridian.
