I just came from my book club. I was invited to join by a good friend. I will be forever grateful to her. It will be nearly 40 years that I have been enjoying this stimulating group. We each do a book and host a luncheon nearly every year and have a Christmas Party with our husbands. This has been a wonderful association and I read books I would never know about.

Belles Lettres in the Whittier Stake, Whittier, California has been going for well over 50 years. I belonged to it for many years until we moved to Utah 2 1/2 years ago.

Thank you for your article and encouragement to start a book club. My friend and I did just that, and it is very rewarding. Not all book clubs are alike. We, too, have a sign-up sheet once a year, for the review and to host Just one person reads a book and reviews it. We get a delightful variety. Last month it was The Odyssey! However, libraries have multiple copies of popular books for book clubs like you describe.
