This insightful article comes from the president of Hillsdale College, a Christian school. The Brigham Young University/Alpine School District Partnership, was responsible for spearheading the movement in Utah that took these Jefferson principles out of K12 curriculum. Thus, our children in Utah have become ignorant. And now Utahans have to go to an Eastern Christian school to gain this information.

Thank you for a thought provoking article. I did notice every example used was a country outside the United States, when will people realize that our "Government" is as guilty of these acts as anyone else Groupthink is here and now

Yes, thank you for re-publishing this article here at Meridian. It is so unfortunate that most young people today have never even heard of "1984" and the warnings that it contains. The older 1956 movie version has been colorized and can be seen here for free: Watch it with your children and discuss how we can protect our freedoms.

I applaud your inclusion of this article from Imprimus. Our nation is under attack by those who deny God, encourage totalitarianism, and the enslavement of humanity-basically, Satan's plan from the beginning of time. We older folks know the meaning of liberty and love of country. Many younger parents do not for they have been schooled in 'groupthink' by our education system, and are passing that same destructive ideology, many times unknowingly, to their children because they simply don't know any better. Perhaps these ideas will stir their thoughts and rekindle the concepts of liberty and love of this great country.

Thank you very much for this thoughtful and informative article. It is so true. I am 75 and I mourn the country in which I grew up. I will send this to my family and post it on Facebook in hopes that others will read and be enlightened or reminded.
