I will echo the previous comments. Thank you for sharing this article. You used the word "authentic" and is a perfect word in contrast to the blasting Christmas music in the stores saying "its the hap happiest season of all..." Well, not to everyone, no. I will print this article and re-read to remind myself many of us struggle at this time of year. It's about Christ and what He brought to all of us. Thank you so much.

Thank you very much for helping to turn a challenging experience into a an opportunity to learn and grow. How easily we judge ourselves for struggling in those difficult experiences instead of seeing in them the love of the Lord in allowing us to grow and learn

It is 4:18 am Christmas morning and I am feeling down. I picked Meridian Magazine to lift my spirits and found this article. It is a miracle !! It has lifted me up. Thank you.

So grateful for this message!! I'm sitting here all alone on Christmas Eve thinking and praying that I can be with family next year... Plus my mom passed away December 1st 2020, I'm just in the midst of sorrow. Reading this message just now has given me hope and a moment of peace with my Savior. Thank you.

You have helped me in the perfect way. Your suffering has been consecrated for good, as He promised.

Thank you for sharing these poignant thoughts - I needed to read this today. Perspective is everything. Remembering the things pointed out - key! Comparisons to the experiences of others: poison.

Thank you for this article! It's exactly what I needed. As a divorced woman whose kids are grown, a temple ordinance worker who is no longer allowed to serve because only a select few are chosen to do so, I'm feeling very alone and forgotten and unvalued. Thank you for this reminder that Christmas is really about the Savior who can heal my hurts and dry my tears.
