This young man is a true super-hero! He didn't need a cape or crazy "super powers" - just the knowledge that his sister needed to be saved at all costs and the courage to act in the moment on her behalf.

The owners did put down the dog as reported in the original news article, even though the little boy didn't want anything done to the dog. (Another testament to this boy's big heart) This article was highlighting the faith and courage of the little boy so it wasn't mentioned.

I don’t care how good of friends you neighbors are, this dog needs to be put down to prevent another attack to your children or someone else. It obviously has an attack personality and cannot be trusted around people, particularly children. Our family dog who was always playful and loving with our children, suddenly out if the blue, jumped up and bit a little neighbor friend in the face when he was coming to play with our son. We had to put her down. There was no way we would take a chance of her injuring another child.
