This article gave me goose bumps--the good kind! Beautiful story, and now this family can look forward to having this child for eternity. This is such a wonderful example of having an eternal perspective and joy.

This story is amazing. My mother spotted during her pregnancy with my youngest sister, and abortion was recommended, because they said the baby wouldn’t be normal. My mother, not LDS, refused and my sister was born perfect. I am so happy that her testimony changed the neighbor’s mind. I shared this story to my Facebook friends, in hopes that it might bless someone; she far I’ve gotten a like from a non-member friend.

It's difficult to write with tears in my eyes--what a beautiful story! All mothers can relate to this story, whether they have lost babies or not! Understanding the Plan of Salvation makes all the difference in the world, and sharing the testimony of it has made a difference in the lives of so many others, I am sure! Thank you, Michaela, for writing this touching story!

What a beautiful, inspiring story of how important the atonement of Jesus Christ is and the truths of the Plan of Salvation. I believe this will help many people who are struggling with different challenges. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful story.

I love this, Krista! I didn't know your full story before. Another ripple you made was almost a year after Candace was born, you knocked on my door with a small angel statue--a copy of one you received--for me. One of my twin boys had died in utero, and you held my hand through the process of funeral homes, cemetaries, and emotional support for losing a baby. I am forever grateful to you. I visit Candace every time I see my Elliott. Thank you. ❤

I was honored to attend Candace's funeral. It was one of the most spiritual experiences I have had. Krista and Jon and thier kids are absolutely wonderful and that article was so beautiful!

The day before my oldest daughter died from breast cancer in 2018 I asked my ministering teachers to come and give her a Priesthood blessing. She had left the Church at 18 but I knew she wouldn't mind. They blessed her with the power to heal - not to be healed - and dozens of her friends are still praising her life.

As Krista’s sister, it was a blessing and spiritual experience to be in that hospital room, which seemed suspended in time and wrapped in our Savior’s love—making a mortal impression I will long remember. Candace’s imperfect little body did not allow her to remain long with us, but her passing through each of our lives helped us remember a bigger eternal perspective and feel God’s great goodness, love, and mercy in a personal way. One day, Candace’s imperfections will be made perfect through Christ’s atoning gifts. He has overcome the grave, and promised blessings are sure for these little ones, who are perfect in Him. What a gift to be a part of little Candace’s life and to know of the many wonderful promised blessings ahead. This was sweet and meaningful to read and remember this event—so beautifully written and shared today.

This was my story too...same feelings, same decision point, same questions, same change in how to prepare to receive this baby, nearly every detail, except she died during her difficult birth. She was our fifth and because of her, because of the change in us from this experience, we had two more. I don't know of any life that was saved or anyone accepting the gospel. I do know our angel baby changed our lives for the good and continues to influence us even thirty years later.

This story has made my day, has lifted me and confirmed that I can do hard things with Christ in my life. Thank you for this wonderful and strengthening confirmation.

I cared for a beautiful LDS family with this situation many years ago. Their story of faith has stayed in my heart for many years. Was it this family? I'm not good at names, so I don't know. I will always remember their living testimony of life, family love. If this family, then hugs from your labor nurse. If not this family, know that you have another family out there who lives the same testimony as yours. Hugs

This story is so inspiring, ThankYou for sharing it. The sanctity of life comes from an eternal perspective and helps me realize whether we live for a few moments or for decades every minute counts. No matter how insignificant we feel, we matter to Him and we are a part of His great plan.

this was such a beautiful story. I knew a sister who had two children like this. I didn't know the first baby. but I knew her for the one she was having at that time. she found out this baby was going to have this anomaly and went through the pregnancy. she was prepared as it had happened to her before. mind you I felt for her because her first baby was like this and she could have given up but she didn't. she had 6 or 7 more kids after the 1st baby. so this would be maybe her 8th child and this child had this condition. she went through the pregnancy and had this beautiful baby girl who actually lived over a week or more until she passed. I went to the funeral and one would have thought I was the mother because I was the one crying my eyes out. the mother was calm knowing that she has this beautiful baby girl who didn't have to live her entire life here on earth. that they would be sealed for eternity. what an experience that was so reading this story reminded me of this and how wonderful the gospel of Jesus Christ is. also I have learned not to fear so much because we are in the hands of our Father in heaven and to trust and rely on Him. loved this story.
