Lovely, just lovely, thank you!

I totally agree with everything in this piece. There have been many, many articles written in the old Ensign, and I remember only one article that spoke of the absolute joy of children receiving material gifts at Christmas.

I loved this article! Thank you for sharing the joy you feel about Christmas. When my parents married, my father was Jewish and my mother Protestant. My mother shared her joy of Christmas and faith in Jesus Christ with my father and with us, their children. Dad loved everything about Christmas -- the lights, the music, the tree, the presents he gave us, and eventually the Savior whose birth we celebrate. Joy to the world!

Thank you! This article brought tears to my eyes. When we lost our baby, Patrick, I felt as lost as you. But one thing that lightened my spirit was listening to Christmas music... 2 months early. I felt no shame. I wanted to decorate the house early, but that's hard with real trees. I love this article. Thank you.

I love this! You beautifully expressed how I feel.

I love when the angel in Nephi's vision gushes, (about Christmas!) "Yeah, and the most joyous to the soul." (1 Nephi 11:23) You expressed that same joy and I am grateful to have read it. Thank you.

Thank you for sharing the joy of the resurrection with us!

I loved your happy article. Thanks! It's wonderful that we can all express our praise and joy to the Savior at Christmastime is such outward and joyous ways in whatever style suits us - lights, food, gifts, songs, togetherness - all in abundance or all in simplicity! Good will simply fills the earth as we celebrate His glorious birth.

Love all of your JOY!!!

Thank you so much for this perspective! It is hard to feel shamed for wanting to decorate and have presents under the tree. Thank you for the reminder that we can celebrate our Savior in our own way. Our testimonies are personal, and the way we express them is also very personal.

This article expresses what I have been feeling for years. Enjoying the lights, the decorations, and the exchange of gifts IS joyful and adds to the season. We can rejoice in the Savior's birth and his great atoning sacrifice without eliminating these things. I am tired of repetitive complaints regarding commercialism. Everyone has the right to choose for themselves how their family will celebrate Christmas without criticisms from others. REJOICE!

I agree with your sentiments! I love everything about Christmas - the lights, sounds and smells all are an additonal way to celebrate our Savior and what He has done for us.

I love your attitude! You have made me stop and consider my own way of celebrating -- and I think I'll be more openly joyful from now on. Thanks, and have a truly joyous Christmas!

Thank you, thank you! I love the excitement and fun of Christmas! Let me feel the JOY!

YES! Finaly someone expresses how I feel! Some of my family frown on my "excess" at Christmas.... starting too soon, too many decorations, too many packages under the tree. But, it is, after all, The Celebration of the birth of our Savior and I want my Joy to rise up to him in a physical form! Thankyou for sharing so that I no longer need to cower in shame for my "overdoing"it at Christmas.
