Has homeopathy been looked into as an option at all? I know homeopathy is widely used in India and using homeopathy to treat leprosy or even prophylactically as a preventative would be less expensive than a vaccine and would be safer and more effective.

While a University student in France, I'd listen to my favorite program, "Radioscopy," that each day featured a well-known individal. One time, Raoul Follerau, who created the world's greatest foundation against leprosy, that carries his name, was invited to talk about his life and philosophy. I was greatly impressed with the interview, and wished I could meet him someday. A few years later, while a missionary in Paris, I was asked by a Sister in California to take a Book of Mormon to him. I did, and briefly met him. Interesting how the Lord can fulfill such simple wishes in His own time-table.

We need more information. Is this a one dose vaccination or will several doses be needed? How many will the world need to truly eradicate this disease? Are there plans afoot to get a vaccination program underway? Is there a way to help? Is there another host for the disease or will it be like smallpox, once gone no more vaccinations needed?

As I finished reading your article about reaching the financial goal for building the school in Little Flower Bihar just now, I was moved to tears. I could feet the love, the support, the compassion and generosity of those who contributed. I have been deeply touched by this story and am grateful for the exposure to this cause. I particularly felt moved by the guidance you received in "Look at my children." That had a lasting impression on my heart.
THEN when you delivered the news of a vaccine being discovered I burst into tears again imagining the impact of this beautiful gift changing the lives of those with the disease and the hope given for the rising generations. I had difficulty reading this feature because of the tears in my eyes! I had just received a text from a friend testifying how the Lord is in the details of our lives. I’m simply overcome with humility. I too work for a charitable organization changing lives in a little village in Mexico. I think when we are able to participate in this kind of work the Lord gives us a vision, very palpably, of how great his love is for his children and what lengths he will bless us as we do Service to those in need. I rejoice in your success and pray that the Lord will continue his blessings over you. The news of the vaccination is a little bit mind-boggling after such a long time..
